IAI Impedance Analyzer

The Impedance Analyzer delivering measurements up to 35MHz

The Impedance Analysis Interface is an optional measurement interface intended to be used in conjunction with the PSM1700 and PSM1735 to form a high accuracy Impedance Analyzer. The IAI provides all of the functionality offered by the LCR Active Head but with a wider frequency and impedance measurement range plus higher nominal accuracy. This is achieved by a more sophisticated design that includes an addtional internal shunt range, a current amplifier to increase low impedance signal levels and calibration together with the PSM1700/PSM1735 with which it will be used.

The PSM17xx+IAI Impedance Analysis Interface is compatible with our PSMComm2 software package which is available as a free of charge download via the support section of our website. This software package allows the user to remotely control the PSM1700 and PSM1735 and stream results directly to a PC. There is a graphing mode as well as the ability to export results directly to excel in a neatly formatted spreadsheet.

IAI Options, Software and Accessories


Note that the IAI should be purchased along with a PSM1700 or PSM1735 in order to perform Impedance measurements, the IAI amplifies the test waveform generated by the PSM1700/PSM1735 generator and also provides current measurement via its integrated calibrated high frequency shunts.

Impedance measurement can also be performed via external shunts, the IAI2 is not required for this approach to impedance analysis and an LPA power amplifier provides the test signal. Voltage across the DUT is measured with CH1 on the PSM1700/PSM1735 and current through the device is measure with CH2 on the PSM1700/PSM1735 across the N4L HF current shunt.
